In today's busy world, we often don't allow ourselves a much needed "relaxation break" . Shallow breathing leaves our organs and glands starving for Oxygen, so lie down, put a pillow under your knees and let Kathi help you relax and rejuvenate every part of your body.
My Favorite Relaxation Techniques
This is a collection of 4 guided sessions which I use both in class and personally.
The first is a 5 minute cool down which you can use at the end of your work-out to return your heart rate and pulse to normal while focusing on breath and relaxing. It's a good way to fully relax before going out and about with the rest of your day.
The second track is a 10 minute session that adds the releasing of tensions from your body to calm the mind and gives your body a little longer quiet relaxation period so that it can fully integrate the benefits of your work-out.
In the third session you are led through a series of tensing and releasing all the muscles in the body so that they will be easier to relax. Next we complete a mental scan to further relax your body. We take a few moments to bring awareness to our breathing and of thoughts coming in and going out of the mind with a deliberate effort not to engage them. This 20 minute session does a remarkable job of calming your mind.
The last track is actually entitled "Jyoti" which translates "Joy" It's a 30 minute journey through your body and mind using light and/or color to remove all tensions, fears, anxiety and bring you into a peaceful, meditative state. It's my recommendation for those who sometimes need a little help getting to sleep at night.
