Time For Baby Boomers To Go Nuts! |

Hello Healthy Boomers, February is National Heart Month so let's talk about Heart Health. Every time I hear that heart disease is the number one killer of both men and women in the U.S., I cringe. Heart Disease is preventable! Several studies have proven that a handful of nuts (one ounce) makes a perfect mid afternoon snack. Firstly, the nuts themselves stave off those food cravings, secondly, they provide a healthy dose of Omega-3 fatty acids which our arteries and heart need to function properly. While walnuts contain the highest amounts of these Omega-3's, all the nuts are beneficial, even the lowly peanut. So "Go Nuts!" Sounds like a Marx Brothers movie. Speaking of the Marx Bros., laughing is also good for your heart so laugh as much as you can every day. Try laughing meditation, laughter Yoga or just watch a funny movie with your family.
