Baby Boomers Tips For Boosting Brain Power

Hello and welcome to Spring!  (I hope)

Did you know that Stress reduces your potential brain power? We need stress hormones for our "fight or flight response" like if one of the grandkids fell into the pool. We run over and dive in to pull them out, and it's one of our stress hormones (cortisol) that takes glucose from our brain & uses it in the rest of our body so that we have the energy for this emergency. The problem in today's high stress society is that we releases too much cortisol,(and other stress hormones) and that's reducing our brain power for no good reason. Ever run in circles trying to find your car keys when you're late for an appointment, but if you calm down and walk through the last time you used the car, you remember that they're in your other coat pocket? Chronic stress can lead to the very real physical sensation of "brain exhaustion."

One tool is guided meditation or relaxation CD's. There are many on the market today in every store from Wall Mart to your local Supermarket and Amazon. I have a CD collection of my 4 favorites available on my web site.  Most places let you listen to a track or two before purchasing, so you can fine one that resonates with you.  Boost your brainpower by taking care of yourself with meditation or deep relaxation and your entire body will Thank You!

Best of Health,

Kathi
